TAJIKISTAN
NSOI first engaged Tajikistan in January 2007 and expects to sign a joint action plan with the Government of Tajikistan soon.
The provisionally agreed upon joint action plan includes 33 priority steps to improve Tajikistani capabilities; 19 of these steps involve ongoing efforts that need to be completed, and the remaining 14 involve new efforts that should be undertaken.
The provisional joint list of priority assistance projects includes 1 project on radioactive sources, 2 on border detection, and 1 each on laws and anti-corruption training.
Donor contacts will begin once the joint action plan is officially approved by the Government of Tajikistan.
